Unconditional Love
The theme of “Federigo's Falcon” was based on the idea of unconditional love. Throughout the time span of Federigo's life he never stopped loving a girl by the name of Monna Giovanna. Federigo fell head over heals Monna giving up all of his money and life for her. After she went off, got married and started a family of her own, Federigo never stopped loving her and kept her in his heart. The picture that I found is based on the same theme but in a different aspect of how it really works. In this picture it shows the Virgin Mary and her son Jesus. In the Biblical times it was extremely looked down apon to have born a child before you have gotten married. For Mary she loved God so much that she was willing to put everything she had on the line to carry out God's plan. In the famous story of Jesus’s story, Mary gave up everything in the love for God and his son Jesus putting all her faith and trust in him. Although she was supposed to marry Joseph by the wishes of her father, she never let it get in the way of her love. Once having Jesus she raised him like her son in the way God wanted her to prepare him for the greatness he would achieve. I feel like this part really connects to “Federigo's Falcon”. Fedrigo would allow Monna’s child to come over and he would teach him all there was about nature under the structure of his mother. This showed the strong love that Federigo had for Monna by allowing her child to spend days with him. One other thing that had a strong connection between the two was their readiness to give up something important to them. Fedrigo was so willing to do everything and anything that he fed her his most prized possession his falcon which was the only thing that he had left in life. While Mary was ready to give up her “virginity” in a sense and the honor that she once had to show the love to become the Virgin Mary mother of Jesus. Although some may say that these are too different to have any similarities, in reality these two stories and events have many.To Federigo it was showing his unconditional love to Monna doing anything and everything for her. While Mary showed her unconditional love to God by being unlawfully loyal to him and following his word no matter what others said. These two stories showed how strong one love could be and how far people are willing to go when it comes to the one person they love.
