Love is Lethal - Amy Bruning
Love is extremely powerful, and if you’re not careful it can kill is a theme that both Love Consecrated, a painting, painted by Albert Besnard and “Federigo’s Falcon”, a tale, written by Giovanni Boccaccio. In both works of art, love seemed to be the main focus of the creators. The painting depicted death gently holding the couple, as if the two people were that much in love that it killed them. The love that the two people had for each other resulted in the death of them both. A similar message was portrayed in the tale. Federigo fell madly in love with Monna Giovanna and did everything he could to impress her. Sadly, she was married and uninterested in Federigo. When her husband died and her son fell ill, he asked his mother to fetch the falcon that Federigo had in his possession. Monna knew Federigo loved his falcon dearly and that she should not ask such a favor of Federigo because of the love he had for her. The love she had for her son outweighed her doubt and reluctantly she went to fetch the falcon. Upon her arrival Federigo became overjoyed and wanted to impress her despite his lack of means to do so. The love he had for Monna compelled him to cook the falcon and serve it to her. The choices of the characters were the result of the love each one felt. In both works the love that the people had for another person resulted in death. The painting had a direct theme with the tale, love is extremely powerful, and if you’re not careful it can sneak up and kill. Love is a strong emotion, and it can very easily be lethal.

Amy I love your paragraph you did a great job on it. I love how you picked the picture of death around a young couple. It is taking the story to a whole knew level. I love how you had how that if you are too into your relationship it can eventually ruin you. You did a very good job at connecting the story and the picture to each other. Great Job!

Amy, the picture you chose is very fitting to the theme and I like that. It is a gruesome image that captures the idea and theme of the piece. I am glad that you connected the death of the falcon, husband and then her son. The love that she posses ends up taking the life from then. I also like the title, "Love is Lethal" it speaks volumes about how you must be careful with love because love can blind you and in the time where you are blind you may end up getting hurt or hurting others in the process. You do a good job describing the figures in the painting to the characters in the story. Thank you for posting I enjoyed reading this.
